Eighteen years across. Nothing replaced anything cleanly — BBM and 2go peaked in the same two years, and the blogs outlived both.

The overlap years2010 to 2014 is the crush: BBM, 2go, the blogs, the WAP portals and Facebook all fully alive at once, on the same handsets, competing for the same airtime.
What ended thingsAlmost nothing here was beaten by a better product. Cheap data and Android ended the feature-phone services; the smartphone ended the ringtone; Instagram and Twitter took the blogs' traffic.
The survivorNairaland opened in March 2005 and is still running on essentially the same page. It is the only artifact here you can still visit.
